Hello! I am a 3rd year biophysics graduate student from UIUC. I originally studied in University of Minnesota - Twin Cities where I obtained my bachelor degrees in physics with a biological emphasis and astrophysics. I love learning and understanding the life cycle of living creatures from biomolecule interactions to entire ecosystems.
Research Description
In the Chemla lab I study bacteriophage chi. This is a flagellotropic bacteriophage which uses it's host bacterium's flagella as a conduit to bind to, and translocate along to interact with a secondary receptor at the flagellar base. The goal of this research is to physically describe the mechanistic process of phage chi translocation and determine what factors govern phage efficiency in both translocation and infection
