Mission

The mission of the Illinois Biophysics Society is to improve the lifestyle, educational experience, and future career opportunities for graduate and postdoctoral researchers in biophysics at the University of Illinois. The members of IBS represent diverse fields and areas of interest, but we remain cohesive in our mission to add to the great legacy of biophysics research at the University of Illinois.

Updates

The 7th Annual Biophysics and Computational Biology Symposium was held on May 1st, 2009 with great student talks and posters and a keynote address, "A Life Changing Decision Made by a Single-Molecule Stochastic Event: Deciphering a Genetic Switch in a Living Bacterial Cell", by Professor X. Sunney Xie.

The latest newsletter with abstracts from the symposium, research summaries by Rabinowitch and Lebus fellowship winners, and IBS and alumni updates is out.

IBS now has t-shirts designed by Derek Caetano-Anolles.
